Embroidery, knitting , and sewing have always been a passion in Kim’s life. Currently, she is a member of Trillium Embroidery Guild and Scarborough Needlearts Guild. She also pursues rug hooking and mix media fibre arts.
Two years ago Kim received her certification in Zentangle®, and has been teaching classes regularly.
Kim has also completed a 16-week program Introduction to Expressive Arts Therapy.
Kim is the owner of Kimat Designs custom framing business (since 1998) incorporating traditional and modern aesthetics into her creative specialty. Following the latest in techniques and products, Kim is committed to enhancing her customers’ artwork, incorporating both traditional and modern aesthetics.
Best known for her specialization in framing heirloom stitchery, Kim also excels in framing original artwork. Unique mat design and colour concepts are a trademark of her work.
Kim was one of the original Board Members at arts-based charity Art With A Heart Inc. and worked with youth at risk, and in corrections as a facilitator with free-motion embroidery.
