I have experience in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, world cultural dances, STOMP, expressive movement and authentic movement. I have taught dance classes to older adults and to college-aged students with special needs. I also have experience leading dance/movement therapy groups for deaf/blind children, older adults and college-aged students with special needs. I hold and work from an eclectic theoretical stance with a focus on Person-Centred and Solution-Focused therapies combined with Chacian dance/movement therapy approach.
I hold a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and dance/movement therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In addition to completing a certificate in Music in Motion: A Mindful Movement Workshop, a certificate of completion of module one in Laban Movement Studies and a certificate for Introduction to Anatomy and Kinesiology both from the Laban Institute of Movement Studies in New York.
My experience, both in dance and as a mental health clinician, in addition to my education and training in clinical mental health counselling and dance/movement therapy, give me a unique skill set to support clients through psychotherapy.
